Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or olive oil

Method

  1. Prepare the seasoning: In a small bowl, mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Coat the chicken: Pat chicken dry, brush with melted butter or oil, then evenly coat with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Cook: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through.
  4. Rest: Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in some lemon juice and olive oil before seasoning.
Use a cast iron skillet for the best blackening effect.
Adjust cayenne pepper to control the heat level.
Let the chicken rest to keep it juicy and tender.
Serve with rice, veggies, or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
